Paul J. Caccaviello is a highly respected Massachusetts attorney with more than 36 years of courtroom experience, now offering his extensive trial skill, judgment, and strategic insight to clients in private practice. Paul began his legal career in 1989 in the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted thousands of cases and quickly distinguished himself as a skilled and trusted trial lawyer. Over the next three decades, he handled some of the Commonwealth’s most serious and complex matters, including major felonies and more than 50 homicide cases in both Berkshire and Hampden counties. He briefed and argued cases before both the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court, demonstrating mastery of trial and appellate practice.

From 2004 to 2018, Paul served as the Berkshire County First Assistant District Attorney, supervising major felony prosecutions, overseeing the grand jury process, managing the Superior Court trial list, and guiding both trial and appellate units. In March 2018, Governor Charles Baker appointed him Berkshire District Attorney, where Paul led an office of more than 50 employees and strengthened partnerships with law enforcement, schools, and community organizations. He finished his prosecutorial career in the Hampden District Attorney Office's homicide unit from 2019 to 2026.

Among Paul’s most notable accomplishments was his work in the prosecution of the triple‑homicide case involving Adam Hall, David Chalue, and Caius Veiovis, a complex, multi‑defendant murder trial that earned him the Robert Faulkner Memorial Award – Outstanding Prosecution USA (2015). His work also includes landmark cases such as Commonwealth v. Damien Lamb, the first Berkshire County murder conviction without a recovered body, and Commonwealth v. Gary Mercure, a multi‑state clergy abuse prosecution resulting in convictions for decades‑old offenses.
